Community Events

At Wellsprings Chapel we arrange and provide a wide variety of community events - weekly clubs and groups, regular monthly activities and special "one-offs". Some are for all ages together and some are for particular age groups.

  • Cafe Connect   ( 0 Articles )

Cafe Connect is a drop-in cafe which runs in the Chapel every Monday and Wednesday from 11.00am to 1.00pm

We serve free drinks and biscuits - including freshly ground coffee, cappuccinos, fairly traded teas, fruit and herbal teas, hot chocolate and orange squash. Light lunches are also provided, such as jacket potatoes with a choice of fillings, toasted sandwiches, "soup of the day", and bacon rolls. There is a suggested price for the lunches, but all are available for whatever you can afford.

A selection of daily newspapers are also there to read, and there's always someone around to chat to.

In addition, Cafe Connect is registered as a UK Online Centre which means we are an official provider of basic computer and internet courses throught the governments "My Guide" website. If you have little or no experience of using a computer, the internet or e-mails but would like to receive some simple, free training to do so, then just pop into the Cafe when it is open and ask about our free computer lessons.

    Church Connect

Church Connect is a new expression of church for people of all ages, but especially those with children. We gather together at the Chapel on the first Saturday of the month from 11.00am to 1.00pm.

It includes loads of art and craft activities, games, stories, singing, discussion and prayer, and finishes with a meal together.

    Toddler Group

The Wellsprings Toddler Group is for parents and carers with pre-school children which meets each term-time Friday from 10.30am to 12.00 noon.

There are loads of toys and games to play with, as well as weekly craft activities, a story and song time, drinks and snacks, and an opportunity for parents and carers to chat to other people in a similar situation or to our very experienced team of helpers.

  • Lunch Club   ( 0 Articles )

    Lunch Club

Wellsprings Chapel's over 50's Lunch Club happens on the first Wednesday of the month from 12.30pm to 2.00pm.

There is a two course meal, time to chat, and a short item from a different special guest after-dinner speaker each month.

Pre-booking is essential due to the popularity of this event.

  • Men's Breakfast   ( 0 Articles )

    Men's Breakfast

On the second Saturday of the autumn, winter and spring months a group of men of all ages gathers at the Chapel to eat a full cooked breakfast, drink freshly ground coffee and listen to an "after breakfast" speaker. Recent speakers have included a former RAF jet fighter pilot telling us of the time he accidentally bombed an American Air Force base, an antiques expert leading a mini "Antiques Roadshow" and stories from our local Wellsprings Police Community Support Officers.

No pre-booking is needed, just turn up at the Chapel by 8.30am. We aim to finish each time by 10.00am.
